Now for the bit about you, the ideal candidate will have come through the architectural route, either as a Part II or Architectural Technologist where a real understanding of design and buildability is born. You will then need to have gone on to work as either a Design Coordinator or Design Manager within a Main Contractor and preferably on volume residential/mixed-use schemes up to £30m in value.

The project you will be attached to is based out of the East of London, will consist of over 105 units consisting of housing and apartment blocks, so RC-frame experience is a must and is currently at PCSA stage. Work is due to start late-Summer with a 3 year build program.

As key responsibilities include managing the design process through design workshops with consultants, subcontractors and the site team, it’s vital that you have strong interpersonal and communication skills and be prepared to make your voice heard.

Building Services

This is a role for someone who has come up on the tools and who wants to progress their career further.
  • Attend all relevant project meetings and support in the development of construction strategies and estimates
  • Ensure all mandatory site signage is in place in prominent places and that a construction safety notice board is in place at the site entrance
  • Ensure that all areas where work is taking place are suitably segregated from AZ staff and other members of the public
  • Ensure that a suitable and sufficient risk assessment is in place for all construction activities and where appropriate a suitable method statement is requested; use the RAMS submission form to sign of RAMS & ensure current RAMS are displayed on the site notice board
  • Ensure the Residual Risk Register (RRR) is in place and displayed on the site notice board and that actions are regularly reviewed and closed out in a timely manner
  • Advise contractors on PTW / CWAR requirements whilst retaining control of high-risk activities
  • Ensure the project contact list is displayed on the site notice board
  • Ensure all operatives are site inducted and that they are issued with a copy of the site rules and a sixty second check card before starting work on site
  • Induction records for operatives directly inducted by AZ must be undertaken and kept in the site file
Experience Required:
  • Minimum of SSSTS certificate
  • CSCS card
  • First Aid
  • Experience supervising construction projects.
Our client a large M&E Company are looking for a Mechanical Manager based on a project in South West London.
  • To manage the Mechanical division of a residential project in Central London from conception through to delivery, reporting to the Project Manager
  • To manage and co-ordinate the Mechanical division of the relevant residential project from conception through to delivery
  • Manage and oversee the on-site construction team, including Mechanical and external Contractors
  • Ensure Sub-contractors work to the programme, construction sequence and efficient deployment when pro-actively allocating work
  • Implementing Mechanical Safe Systems of Work procedure
  • Ensure the highest consideration is given when complying with current regulations and specific client requirements
  • Reporting of all Health and Safety issues and manage the issue and upkeep of PPE to the team
  • Proactively demonstrating Health and Safety Leadership and monitoring on site; ensuring the safety standards are understood, implemented and maintained by all team members and Contractors
  • Carrying out detailed Quality Assurance inspections of installations in accordance with our clients QA procedure
  • Manage and oversee the Mechanical pre-commissioning and commissioning including the flushing, testing and chlorination of the systems
  • Implement and monitor the project to ensure it is engineered to the highest standard
  • Take ownership of Mechanical issues and liaise with the Client and Design consultants to obtain closure and clarifications where necessary
  • Ensure appropriate quality and workmanship
  • Carryout Toolbox talks were required to Sub-contractors
  • Provide weekly updates to the Contracts Manager and Projects Manager
  • Review of ongoing works and highlight potential defects or risks
  • Complete accurate project materials take off as allocated by the project procurement process
  • Ensure installations are in accordance with drawing specifications
Skills and Experience Required:
  • An industry relevant City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 or above
  • SMSTS
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Manager

Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor – London - £85,000 A nationally know M&E contractor are looking for a senior m&e quantity surveyor to join their team working predominantly on commercial new builds and fit outs. If you believe you are at or are ready for the responsibilities of a senior quantity surveyor then read on. Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor You will ideally have been working as a quantity surveyor for the last 10 years, specifically on projects from £5m to £50m in the commercial market either fit out or new build. You’ll have finished your quantity surveying degree and be skilled at budgeting, reporting, developing BOQ’s and profit plans. You will also be comfortable working at a senior level administering contract obligations (and any additional client requirements) and undertaking / managing commercial meetings with the client and internal project team. You will also need to have experience negotiating on your own, on the spot, as necessary with the client and sub contractors. Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – London - £60,000 If you are a mechanical design engineer who has experience designing projects across multiple sectors in London & the home counties and are looking to work with an international multi disciplinary company then please read on. Transport – Engineering

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Bus Mechanic / PSV Engineer to work for an operator in the London area.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the on-going repair and maintenance to a large fleet of vehicles.

Duties to include:

  • Undertaking Vehicle maintenance, servicing and running repairs on a varied fleet (including M.O.T preparation)
  • Prompt Repair of all defective vehicles to the highest standard
  • Ensure vehicles are maintained in accordance with the Company Operators Licence guidelines
  • Ensure all repairs to company vehicles are carried out in a timely manner
  • Have an ability to work to the highest Health & Safety standards
  • Prep & Presentation for VOSA tests
  • Preventative Maintenance
  • Fault Diagnostics
  • All associated paperwork, reports and admin

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year post apprenticeship experience and hold either a City & Guilds or NVQ level 2 or 3 accreditation (time served engineers without these qualifications will also be considered).

Candidates that hold either PSV License will be prioritised however this is not an essential requirement for the role.
