The Role – Senior Mechanical Project Manager

Having worked in the commercial fit out market as a mechanical project manager you will have extensive experience in taking the project from the pre-con design phase through to handover. Remuneration

Junior to Intermediate Mechanical Estimator

As an estimator it can be difficult whether you’re a couple of years into it or fully established and well into your 10th year. A medium sized M&E contractor who specialise in commercial fit out projects is looking for a mechanical estimator to join the team and be trained into a senior member of the team. So if you are a junior estimator or an established estimator in your own right this role could be for you.

Junior to Intermediate Mechanical Estimator - The Role:

This is a hands-on role with a responsibility for the production of Mechanical tenders. You will have to breakdown client enquiries, organise or complete the required surveys and prepare detailed Mechanical estimates, tenders and quotations to ensure that opportunities are being accurately estimated competitively, successfully and profitably.

You will also support the Business in client meetings and estimation/tender presentations to help secure tendered opportunities. Using relevant industry experience, you will be expected to help develop and refine the estimation process to improve efficiency, clarity, and accuracy while reducing overall costs.

Project values can vary between £100,000 and £3m and depending on your experience level you will be assisting the team or running your own tenders.

Mechanical Estimator - Requirements:

As an estimator you would be expected to have a solid understanding of Mechanical estimating and previous experience in the construction industry, ideally as an estimator in a similar role.

You would also have an established background in Estimating, Quantity Surveying, Project & Bid Management allowing you to understand and interpret detailed Technical Works Scope documentation Identify, quantify and mitigate areas of commercial risk.

You will also need the ability to plan workload for yourself with others to ensure delivery to client deadlines.

Remuneration:

The role includes a competitive salary of between £30,000 and £55,000 (dependent upon experience).

As a result, they require a Lead engineer / Master Technician with their Field Service Team

The right candidate will be qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent and have a good mechanical and electrical knowledge and skill base. You will possess a good knowledge of current technologies and have a keen interest in emerging ones. You will be willing and able to learn and use your knowledge to help develop the team around you.

Responsibilities

The principle duties of the post are:
  • Fault diagnosis
  • Use of advanced diagnostic tools
  • Training
  • Liaison with Technical Services and Support Managers
  • Reduce dependency on external contractors
  • Produce periodic reports of garage technical issues

Previous experience using a range of the following equipment and working on systems is desirable; Volvo Tech-tool/Impact, BAE / Siemen hybrid systems, Cummins Insite Pro, Cummins Quick-serve, Scania SPD3, Allison Doc, ZF Testman.

The successful candidate will be required to work Monday – Friday middle shifts (38 hours a week), but flexibility will be required. There will be opportunities for overtime as and when required by the business.

We are currently looking to recruit a Bus Mechanic / PSV Engineer / HGV Mechanic to work for an operator in Orpington, South-East London. The successful candidate will be responsible for the on-going repair and maintenance to a large fleet of vehicles.

Duties to include:

  • Undertaking Vehicle maintenance, servicing and running repairs on a varied fleet (including M.O.T preparation)
  • Prompt Repair of all defective vehicles to the highest standard
  • Ensure vehicles are maintained in accordance with the Company Operators Licence guidelines
  • Ensure all repairs to company vehicles are carried out in a timely manner
  • Have an ability to work to the highest Health & Safety standards
  • Prep & Presentation for VOSA tests
  • Preventative Maintenance
  • Fault Diagnostics
  • All associated paperwork, reports and admin

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year post apprenticeship experience and hold either a City & Guilds or NVQ level 2 or 3 accreditation (time served engineers without these qualifications will also be considered). Pay rate is £20 per hour.

Work Shop Manager

Salary - £44,262 per annum

Location - Sutton

An Excellent opportunity has arisen for a Workshop Manager / Satellite Manager to join one of the UK’s Leading Bus operators.

This is a key post which reports to the Engineering Manager. We are looking for a well-motivated individual who can demonstrate first class management skills and be able to work effectively under pressure.

Responsibilities

The principle duties of the post are:

  • Effective supervision of a fully skilled team of engineers.
  • Safety, monitoring of performance, adherence to company policies and procedures, discipline of staff.
  • Adhering to the vehicle maintenance schedule, inspection of vehicles and carrying out quality checks.
  • Ensure maximum availability of vehicles and reducing mechanical lost mileage to the absolute minimum.
  • Working on a rotating shift basis. Responsibility for the 24-hour sheets, issuing worksheets to staff and ensuring that necessary repairs, adjustments or attention to vehicles is carried out in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. Ensure that any outstanding work is carried forward on the 24-hour sheet.
  • Deal with road calls and requests to cover any emergency that may arise.
  • Deal with telephone calls and other communications.
  • Liaise with the Operating Manager and Traffic Controllers.
  • Responsibility for security of premises, stores and health and safety of staff on the premises.
Qualifications

The Satellite Manager will also be required to undertake the tasks of the staff he/she supervises. NVQ level 3 or equivalent would be desirable for this role.

You will be offered a basic salary of £44,262 per annum

The successful candidate will be required to work early and late shifts.
